Low Vision Clinic at New Eyes Old Skies
What is Low Vision?
How can we Help?
Low Vision is often overlooked in respect to Vision Care. It can affect 1 in 3 people, no matter what their age. From children with extreme myopia to seniors with Macular Degeneration.
Unfortunately many people do not know how to deal with Low Vision issues. Their Ophthalmologist and/or Optometrist do not necessarily have the knowledge relative to facilities available for their visually impaired patients. Besides the CNIB, they think that no other options exist, however, that is not the case. The next step to low visual optical dispensing, is a Low Vision Clinic.
We at New Eyes Old Skies, have established such a clinic!
Through the proper government channels, we have received the coveted designation registry of ADP (Assisted Devices Program). Our Dispensing Optician, Susan Liebman, has had training in Low Vision and holds a certificate from the John Hopkins University.
We take Doctor referrals as well as walk-ins. However, we prefer Doctor referrals given the tests generated by the Doctors, are very beneficial in the final dispensing of the low vision appliance.
